The Gatehouse

Although the building fronts Carver Street, the entrance to The Gatehouse is located just inside the main gate off Bradford Street. The original 1790s Cape Cod home underwent expansion in the 1960s, which changed its façade to a New England Country Federal style. A second major renovation project during the 1990s created its current configuration. The Gatehouse contains the Reception Desk, the kitchen and large Breakfast Room on the first floor. A large fireplace dominates the breakfast room, which has oriental rugs, and primitive pine and contemporary furnishings. The Gatehouse also houses three deluxe guestrooms on the second floor: Room 40, a king-bedded room; Room 41, a queen-bedded room; and Room 42, a king-bedded room that is the largest guestroom on the property.
