Ring in the New Year Right!

Like most holiday weekends, New Year’s Weekend in Provincetown is a blast with plenty of goofiness, fine dining, theater, parties, music…however you take your entertainment, Ptown has something to offer.  Here are some of the classic events you won’t want to miss. You’re gonna want to work one of these into your holiday weekend plan!  The Provincetown Business Guild has a complete list of the 2019 First Light Events here.

Cocktail Party at Shipwreck Lounge

Of course, I had to give a shout out to our own event. This one kicks off the weekend on Friday, December 28. We’ll have special craft cocktails on hand and it’ll be a great chance to socialize and schmooze next to the fire.

Suede in Concert

This is Suede’s annual First Light show. If you are looking for great music, charisma, and a fun performance, check in at the Crown & Anchor on Saturday night, December 29. Crown & Anchor has plenty of other events happening—dance parties, sing alongs—you name it.

First Light Fireworks

Starting at 5:30pm on Sunday, December 30, the fireworks are the best, aren’t they? You can’t have New Year’s without them. I’ve been ooohhhing and ahhhing over them for years and they never seem to get old.

Light Bright Bike Ride

This is your chance to do it up and light up your bicycle (and yourself?) for a short ride around Ptown. It’s free and open to all and happening on Monday afternoon, December 31.

Polar Bear Plunge

Maybe this will be the year I finally do it! Join a hearty, courageous group for a quick dip into Provincetown Harbor. Registration support the Center for Coastal Studies.
