Cycle to Adventure!
Bicycles are perhaps the best and most convenient way to take in Provincetown’s most iconic sights and locations. The fall weather is perfect and traffic has dissipated so now is the time! Given the right itinerary and a little motivation, it’s entirely possible to cruise down Commercial Street and then tackle the 5.5 mile mile loop through sand dunes and pine forests of the Province Lands Bike Trail all in one incredible day. No matter your skill level or trail choice, I am sure you will enjoy the ride!
Here are a few links to some of the best bike rental shops and rides PTown has to offer:
Gale Force Bikes, conveniently located at 144 Bradford Street Extention, offers rentals, sales and even bike tours led by Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies naturalists. They are open 7 days a week and take rental reservations, so make sure to give them a call if you need bikes on your vacation!
Arnold’s Bike Shop has been in the bike business since 1937 which makes them the oldest bike shop in Provincetown! They have over 400 bikes in their rental fleet, are extremely easy to deal with and are located right on Commercial Street. If you’re into bikes this is definitely one cool shop to visit!
Province Lands Bike Trail – One of the most scenic bike trails in the country if you ask me! There are numerous access points and the main bike loop has a number of short spurs and trails that are fun to explore. Enjoy breezing through the hills, curves and tunnels or take a leisurely approach, pack a lunch, and make a full day out of it.
